- Saltó a la fama en el año 1971 por su excelente papel del asesino Skorpio en el film "Dirty Harry"... papel tan convincente que durante un tiempo recibió llamados telefónicos por encargos reales de asesinatos.
- Casado desde 1970 con Irene, con quien tiene una hija, Rachel
- Concurrió al casting de "Deep Space Nine" inicialmente para cubrir el rol de Odo.
- Es el padrino de Django, el hijo de Alexander Siddig y Nana Visitor.
