A thought experiment on what we have of current warships in Starfleet. Which one is your favorite and why? My personal favorite is the Akira Class and it’s huge torpedo compliment. What’s yours?

The Defiant is officially classified as an escort vessel. Its totally not a war ship.
the Defiant was nothing less than Starfleet's first design of a warship intended to combat the Borg. The vessel featured minimal equipment for scientific research and was not designed to accommodate families. (DS9: "The Search, Part I")
It was essentially a war ship, but Starfleet doesn’t have war ships, so they called it an escort vessel.
Galaxy, sovereign, prometheus, intrepid, nebula, ambassador, excelsior, defiant, and miranda. They might not have been classified as warships, but they were all quite formidable and the closest thing starfleet had to warships.
And yet they are not warships. Icecreamdif is correct. Officially, Starfleet does not have any warships.
I will concede that the Terran Imperial Starfleet technically employed warships. Take that as you will. That does kinda limit your choices to ENT, DIS, and TOS era ships, though. I guess the Defiant, in this scenario, can be a considered remote contender as well.
the Vengeance
Huh. Totally forgot about the Kelvin-verse. Good call.
Thanks, I wasn't the biggest fan of the Kelvin timeline but at least we had some Star Trek movies.
