Vulcan is in the Beta Quadrant though 🤔
No, it isn't.
the Beta Quadrant
The Star Trek Star Charts claim that the Beta Quadrant contains the core worlds Vulcan (40 Eridani), Andoria (Procyon), Risa, and the Rigel (Beta Orionis) systems; the Alpha Quadrant contains Tellar (61 Cygni), Trill, and Betazed.
The Star Trek galaxy explained that apart from the Romulans and the different versions of the Klingons, the Beta Quadrant's highlight is Vulcan, the native planet of Spock and other members of the Vulcan species. Multiple Star Trek encyclopedias suggest that Vulcan is located in a Sector of the same name within the Beta Quadrant. The 2002 publication Star Trek Charts also estimates Vulcan's exact position to be somewhere in the 40 Eridani star system that really exists 16.3 light years from Earth's Sun. Much like Spock, the inhabitants of Vulcan can be identified with their raised eyebrows and pointy ears. Mostly devoid of emotions, the Vulcans are known for leading a life on the basis of logic and reasoning.
No I’ve no issue with it either just asked a question. I was always under the impression it was the Beta Quadrant I’ve never seen a reference to Vulcan being in the Alpha Quadrant until today and only on this site. Also sorry for posting the picture 3 times I only Clicked post once 😂🤦♂️
I will stick with Beta as that’s what I’m comfortable with and always known 👍
I never knew that some locate it in the Beta quadrant ... also never read the MA entry all through to the end, or I would have known. So, I learned something new today, which is always good.
In my head canon, I will stick with Alpha. Seems to make more sense to me, I always envisioned the Quadrants being named by the federation in its early days, starting with Alpha from some central point between the founding members' homeworlds.
But it's just this, head canon. In a fictional universe, no published version of a "fact" is more true than any other.
As for the three posts, I knew this. Also had a time or two when I wanted to delete a post of mine, but this is not possible. I think it should be, at least in the first minute or so.
Agreed go with what suits. I’ve only ever known it to be in the Beta quadrant from every reference I’ve read or seen from games, maps, wiki sites etc. Fandom has two entries one saying Alpha one saying Beta 😂
The galaxy’s quadrants aren’t fictional they exist and are named the same. The star Eridani 40 which Vulcan allegedly orbits is real and is approximately 16.3 light years from Sol.
Thats what I love about Star Trek fiction based on reality is a beautiful thing
What do you think?
