I've calculated/ assumed the end of the episode was February 11, 2259 (the 42nd day in 2259) because the stardate was 2259.42.
I've made some assumptions in my own interpretation of the timeline.
[Indeterminate time span includes a survey mission.]
I speculate it's a visit to Nibiru where the cable doesn't break.
Spock, Ortegas and Sam Kirk possibly.
Or it's a planetary extinction.

It seems as if the TOS episode "Arena" has been totally retconned given how the Gorn are not only known in 2259 but have destroyed several Federation colonies and have even sent the Federation detailed border lines. They fully obliterated a Federation Starship and have been intimately encountered by every single TOS main cast member aside from McCoy, Sulu, and Kirk. Captain Kirk now definitely knows about them 8 years before "Arena".
Uhura and Chapel didn't know T'Pring in "Amok Time" but have clearly met and interacted with her in Strange New Worlds.
Chapel's declaration of love for Spock in "The Naked Time" now seems redundant as they've apparently dated and copulated in the past... Something Spock couldn't do with Kalomi until he got blasted by Spores in "This Side of Paradise"
Is TOS just not canon anymore? How long until Paramount admits that SNW isn't a prequel to TOS but rather a replacement.
Why on a show that already has a Captain Christopher Pike and a Nurse Christine Chapel, is there also an Ensign Christina on the bridge?
Maybe I’m just grumpy that my mom gave me such a common name.

I realize Nurse Chapel’s hair color is all over the place during her various appearances. But damn that new platinum Mutant Storm hair? Thoughts?
