I just rewatched TMP…can’t tell you how many times I have seen it, at least a score, what I can tell you is that I like it better & better with each screening!
Many of you likely know this, but I will share anyway…
Lt. Erica Ortegas of SNW is named for Jose Ortegas, the helmsman that the Great Bird outlined in his original “Wagon Train to the Stars” pitch. This character morphed into Jose Tyler, as seen in “The Cage”. But now we have an Ortegas at the helm on the USS Enterprise.
especially for humanity striving 🥹 in this polycrisis world
But… maybe there’s hope 🕊️ |👇
Regarding the first line: that "balance" can also be referred to as dynamic equilibrium* and the Earth has continuously and naturally knows what it means which I can only hope with time we** can learn 📖 to do the same using some positive ST references and concepts as guidance 😉🫱🏻🫲🏾, however — in further analysis to the first line though, like a hatching chick, an emerging butterfly, or even a human baby leaving the womb, when life outgrows the carrying capacity of its environment, it must adapt to new conditions in order to survive. Current conditions require us to evolve toward a more collaborative, emergent system in order for human life on Earth to thrive with that being said even whats happing today machines will eventually be assigned all of our menial tasks. Today’s cognitive computing machines can process one quadrillion bits of information per second. No humans have this capability. In the near future, the operation of a global society will be far too complex for any sophisticated group of humans to manage. Machines can weigh data continuously and indefinitely —- let me this into perspective of this "example": We can’t designate a population of 10 million for a given area without doing a study of the resources you have. We need to survey how many resources are needed to support so many billions of people. If you exceed that, you’re going to have starvation, malnutrition, territorial disputes. We have to maintain a population in accordance with the Carrying Capacity of Earth. No opinions… (and there should be many good reasons today why it was concluded with no opinions in relation to the example, I’ll leave you guys to dive further into it 👌🏻)
Furthermore, as a personal belief, even some other people and friends I’ve have addressed this to it seems more logical to take care of some issues here on Earth first before encountering more complex and new ones out there in the galaxy without repeating older mistakes and preparing for the new, so I guess in that respect: "it is important to learn how to walk for oneself, rather than being carried, is it not?"
These are 3 external links I inspired from as well:

2.)
3.)
Additionally, as a concerned human being, regarding climate change along with other detrimental issues happening now I do advise peacefully, taking a look at this website whenever anyone on this platform can, and how y'all can understand and share for the positive hope humanity might still have… 🙂🌎🌍🌏♥️ I believe the choice lies with us 🖖🏻
Quote: "Star Trek speaks to some basic human needs, that there is a tomorrow--it's not all going to be over in a big flash and a bomb, that the human race is improving, that we have things to be proud of as humans" ~ Gene Roddenberry
Quote 2: "You don't see the plug connected to the
environment, so it looks like we're free, wandering around. Take the oxygen away, we all die immediately. Take plant life away, we die.
And without the sun, all the plants die. So we are connected" ~ Jacque Fresco
Thank you, Radu 🌴 — peace and long life…
P.S. all the accomplishments we have done already, that’s a hell of a lot of accomplishments for a bunch of hydrogen molecules that were set lose since the beginning of the universe…
• Interesting? (relating to the PiP image frame) —— 😉🌎🌍🌏 | 🖖🏻🖖🏾 peace and long life… she will also be missed 😢 but remembered only in memory 🧠♥️🕊️
• I logically assumed that combining these two would be a sentimental, peaceful approach… maybe I was right 😏👍🏻 also, as the saying goes:
"the human Human is just beginning" ~ Gene Roddenberry
• FYI as a friendly reminder: "Until humans learn to tolerate -- no, that's not enough; to positively value each other -- until we can value the diversity here on Earth, then we don't deserve to go into outer space and encounter the infinite diversity out there" ~ Gene Roddenberry (think on it 🧐💭)

It's inarguable that Star Trek would not exist without creator Gene Roddenberry. Roddenberry provided the blueprint for Trek and fostered the cult following around it (and around himself). But as more has been revealed about the backstage drama of the franchise, it has become clear that Roddenberry has received far too much credit for Star Trek's enduring quality. In recent years, much of the success of The Original Series has been reattributed to head writer Gene L. Coon. In The Fifty-Year Mission: The Unauthorized, Uncensored Oral History of Star Trek by Edward Gross and Mark A. Altman, multiple members of the production sing Coon's praises while voicing frustration at Roddenberry's alternating micromanagement and absenteeism. The book also details Roddenberry's awful drafts of The Motion Picture, and allegations that he attempted to sabotage the now-beloved Wrath of Khan after Paramount stripped him of creative control over the film series. While Roddenberry did return to create the hit spinoff The Next Generation, his declining health meant that he had far less influence than producers Rick Berman, Maurice Hurley, and Michael Piller, or even his own lawyer Leonard Maizlish. Deep Space Nine, arguably the best Star Trek series, was created entirely without him. One need only look to Roddenberry's failed works outside of Trek to realize that he was not a genius, but a writer with one solid pitch and a knack for self-promotion. Star Trek was his baby, but it took a village to raise it.

https://orville.fandom.com/wiki/The_Orville_Wiki
For those of you who've watched the orville (both seasons), do you think it's good and similar enough to star trek to be an honorary star trek show?
It's obviously based on star trek, pays homage to it quite nicely, has excellent stories that explore humanity and morality, and has quite a few star trek production staff and actors involved with it. So many things in it are similar to star trek in a cool and fun way (but with its own unique style), like the planetary union (the federation), krill (klingons), kaylon (automated personnel units), uss orville ecv-197 (uss enterprise ncc-1701), environmental simulator (holodeck), isaac (data), bortus (worf), etc.
Also, which star trek series do you think is most like the orville?
According to memory alpha,
"This episode marks the 100th episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and is also the fourth season finale."
"Former President Ronald Reagan visited the set during filming of this episode. After being introduced to several actors dressed in full Klingon warrior garb, Reagan was asked what he thought of the Klingons. "I like them, " he said. "They remind me of Congress. " [2](X)"
"Brent Spiner and Ronald D. Moore recalled that during this visit, the ailing Gene Roddenberry dropped his cane, and the former President bent down to pick it up. ("Intergalactic Guest Stars Presidential Visit: Ronald Reagan", TNG Season 5 DVD special feature)"

In El Paso, Texas on August 19, 1921, Eugene Wesley Roddenberry was born.
He is better known as writer Gene Roddenberry.
The man who created Star Trek.
Before becoming a writer Roddenberry was an Army Air Force pilot in World War II, then an airline pilot and finally to get experience to help him write a police officer with the L..A.P.D.
He created, produced (through his Norway Corporation) and wrote a police drama series called "The Lieutenant"
that lasted for one season.
Gene's next project would be the start of something extraordinary!
He would create, produce and write a science fiction series.
He saw the series that he called "Wagon Train in the stars." become a cultural phenomenon even after it was canceled in 1969.
In 1979, he produced "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" which brought the adventures to the movie screen.
He was an executive consultant on 1982's "Star Trek II- The Wrath Of Khan" right through to 1991's "Star Trek IV- The Undiscovered Country"
He was also had a producing credit for 1989's "Star Trek V- The Final Frontier".
In 1987 he brought Star Trek back to the television screen with "Star Trek- The Next Generation.
Gene Roddenberry will ALWAYS be remembered for taking us to "Space the final frontier" and "To boldly go where no man has gone before!" or if you prefer "To boldly go where no one has gone before!".
Thank you Gene Roddenberry. In our hearts you DEFINITELY "Live Long And Prosper"!
Born- August 19, 1921
Died- October 24, 1991
Today would have been Star Trek franchise creator Eugene Wesley "Gene" Roddenberry's one-hundredth b-day if he still lived today. May his optimistic and idealistic vision for the future, as explicitly explored and depicted in his most famous and best-known creation, one day become reality in the future. It's up to us and all future generations to make it so. And while I'm sure that he would probably disapprove of me saying this, as he and I probably wouldn't see eye-to-eye had he and I ever met, if not known each other, may his soul live long and prosper. 🖖
(1921-1991)
Happy Centennial to Gene Roddenberry. With a vision of the possibilities of humanitys future.
May your memory as always Live long and Prosper
