After watching this video regarding the U.S.S. Reliant - https://youtu.be/wjygYal9ZZc?si=SWEnmD07GeHq0Gt0 - a friend of mine got an idea for a story behind said ship possibly being a warship. It could explain why the Reliant has warship-like features even though Starfleet claims it isn't. He thinks that more far-right members like Admiral Cartwright feared that war with the Klingon Empire was imminent so they used their influence in Starfleet to construct more militaristic starship vessels to prepare the Federation for such a conflict, as well as political manipulation to not give the Reliant outright offensive weaponry so Starfleet could still maintain their peaceful nature without raising suspicion that they were militarizing. Furthermore, with such themes explored in The Undiscovered Country, some Starfleet officers are willing to commit acts of treason and terrorism, so it's possible for Star Trek to show flaws in its society without losing its idealistic and optimistic message.
Captain J’Roc joined a group of mercenaries after he graduated from the Klingon Warrior Academy. He was treated like an outcast by other Klingons since his mother was Orion and he did not know who his father was. The ship he joined was a Romulan vessel renamed the Midnight Star as the tactical officer.
He quickly rose in rank through hard work and drive until he became Captain Harkens’ (Human) Next in Charge basically his 1st Officer. Captain Harkens wanted to steal Commander Data from the Enterprise so he ordered J’Roc to take one of the Ship’s shuttles and openly travel towards Federation space near the Enterprise while they followed behind him under cloak. He was to get as close to the Enterprise as possible then disable his shuttle and send a distress call.
The Enterprise was located closest to where the distress signal so Captain Picard immediately went to aid the person or persons in distress. J’Roc was severely injured from the explosion he set on his shuttle so Dr. Crusher had to save his life. She looked up his DNA in Starfleet’s database to look for blood donors since Worf wasn’t due back for a few days. She discovered that J’Roc’s father was Captain Duras who Worf had killed before his son Toral tried to take over the Empire.
Captain Harkens was too impatient waiting for J’Roc to steal Commander Data and de-cloaked directly in front of the Enterprise and opened fire immediately.
The Enterprise and the Midnight Star exchanged fire until the mercenary ship was destroyed. J’Roc almost died too while the Enterprise was being attacked. Dr. Crusher managed to stabilize his condition by putting him into stasis. Picard ordered Worf to come back to the Enterprise ASAP because he was needed urgently.
Lt. Worf made it back to the Enterprise a day earlier than he originally planned for because the Captain asked him to. Dr. Crusher informer Worf that she needed some of his blood to save an Orion’s life. She decided to leave out the fact that the Orion’s father was Captain Duras because he was Worf’s enemy. Worf’s blood saved J’Roc then Dr. Crusher told Worf about the Orion’s heritage and he was furious. Captain Picard told Worf to assign J’Roc quarters and Worf did as he was told against his personal feelings.
J’Roc couldn’t steal Data without drawing more attention to himself since he just found out that Duras was his father and he wanted to find out all about him. He looked through transporter files to find Commander Data’s pattern which there were several matches for from different missions. He downloaded one of Data’s patterns into a hidden data module in his armor then he went back to his temporary quarters on the Enterprise. They sent for a Klingon ship to get J’Roc to take him back to Quo’noS to face the High Council.
The Council pardoned J’Roc son of Duras against Chancellor Gowron’s wishes but he did what the Council recommended. Gowron made J’Roc leadership of the House of Duras, but he said someone had to be punished for Ja’rod’s dishonor. He decided that since the Duras sisters, and their nephew tried to tear apart the empire, they were permanently removed from the House of Duras but they were still allowed to live and operate in the empire.
Captain J’Roc son of Duras was given the command of the Teyh-vey and he used his ship’s replicator to replicate Commander Data from his transporter pattern.
Kahless Shran was born on Andoria to Starfleet Lt. Zamora while on leave in 2331. Her father was Thy’lek Shran who was a descendant of the famous Captain Shran. He was a scientist who went to Quo’noS on an archaeological expedition along other Starfleet officers to a newly discovered religious shrine. A group of Klingon clerics started a religious order a few hundred years after the death of Emperor Kahless and they preserved his skull in some kind of polymer sphere that they kept on an alter.
Dr. Thy’lek used a Federation transporter to beam the sacred globe which the skull of Kahless was sealed inside of to the Klingon Council building. He, however, doubled the pattern of the globe and kept one for himself on his shuttle. He returned home where he had a small collection Lyssarian Desert Larvae and he extracted DNA from the globe. Dr. Thy’lek had to liquify the bone fragments from Kahless’ skull so that he could inject into one of the Lyssarian Desert larvae. A full grown adult living Kahless became close to Zamora, Dr. Thy’lek’s daughter, three days later.
Emperor Kahless won Zamora’s heart by telling her spell-binding tales from ancient Klingon times in the past. The two became lovers against her father’s wishes because Thy’lek never told Zamora that Kahless was a genetic duplicate that would only live for a week.
Zamora was becoming sick so she went to a physician who told her that she was pregnant. She came home to tell Kahless the good news when her father stopped her. Dr. Thy’lek told his daughter that Kahless died then showed her the body and then told her about the Lyssarian Desert larvae. Zamora named her son Kahless after his father then quit Starfleet for a while to raise him on Andoria.
2345 (14 years later)
Zamora re-enlisted Starfleet at her previous rank of lieutenant and she was assigned to the USS Max Liebermann. Kahless moved with her and he lived on the Max Liebermann for four years until he moved back to Andoria with his grandfather, Dr. Thy’lek. He learned how to be a warrior in the local Andoria military. He was always curious about his Klingon heritage so he developed a Klingon cultural holoprogram to teach him how to be like his father.
Kahless Shran transferred to Starfleet in 2365 at the rank of lieutenant Commander because he was able to maintain his rank from the Andorian military with special dispensation. He was being taken by the USS Enterprise to his new assignment as Chief Tactical and Security Officer on the USS Los Angeles.
He met Worf who immediately recognized his resemblance to Emperor Kahless.

Just to ask with Star Trek Discovery now being in the 32nd Century. What happened to the Klingons and their empire in the 32nd Century? As there is no mention of it? Was it wiped out?
The Federation is know for its advanced technology. It’s primary mission is to explore the galaxy. The Federation only gives its ships the bare minimum when it comes to weaponry; enough to defend themselves. My question is: The Federation flagship, the great USS Enterprise, defeated by a few mere Klingon battleships. One would think that the flagship of the federation would have the weaponry to defeat at least five battleships. Why is this? Why is the federation’s weaponry so weak? There shields can not even survive seven hits from a Klingon battleship.

He is a good character. For some reason, I often compare myself to him. 🖖
What do you think would've happened to the federation, klingons, romulans, the rest of the alpha quadrant, and the dominion if the dominion had won the dominion war? What would a dominion controlled alpha quadrant have been like?
Were the combined forces of the dominion, breen, and cardassians pretty evenly matched with the combined forces of the federation, klingons, and romulans?
Also, why weren't other federation or dominion member worlds' species and ships (like the vulcans, andorians, karemma, etc.) shown fighting in the dominion war?
Something I’ve noticed is that some fans believe that everything Worf knew about Klingons comes from books, and that he initially didn’t know much about Klingons. This is a false assumption. Something to remember is that Klingons grow up about twice as fast as humans, probably a little faster accounting for Alexander’s human dna. That means that while Worf was chronologically 6 years old, he was actually the Klingon equivalent of a tweenager or teenager when he was adopted. He didn’t get his info on Klingons from books, he Remebered living with Klingons. Hence his perceived obsession with being Klingon isn’t that he wants to learn about them, but that he misses home and his family and doesn’t want to forget anything. He remembers living as a Klingon that lived among other Klingons. He isn’t unique in that he spent his childhood around humans, he is unique in that he spent his childhood with Klingons, and went through adolescence among humans who likely had a hard time adjusting having their adopted son grow up so fast, hence why his parents were so anxious to see him.

When a new planet joins the federation, are their ships refit and integrated into Starfleet? I was wondering since this doesn’t seem to be any examples of this but however we only see so much of the federation and its ships through our screens. I hunk this would be interesting to show. Also I personally think that when the federation gains a member, that the federation ships in turn are fitted with technology from the aliens. It would explain some drastic design changes is ships. For example when I watched TMP o noticed the nacelles were completely different and wondered if a new alien species shared some of their tech. For example, they could reveal that the very major refits may have coincided with a new planet joining their federation, and their ships might have had TMP-style nacelles. I also think it would be interesting to see a future where the Klingons and Romulans have joined Starfleet and the shops would gain each other’s tech. And then new classes might have hybrid like designs. You could have and enterpise f or g with an enolgated body like the most recent federation ships with a smoother version of the fish tail structure of Klingon ships and it could have the wing like structures of the TNG romulan ships. Has anyone else ever thought of this? Does anyone else have this headcanon?
