Did any enterprise before the enterprise d, like the enterprise c, have a holodeck? If so, which one, and was it as advanced as the enterprise d's holodeck?

You know what the Captains of the Enterprise have in common?...
Their first names start with "J"
Jonathan Archer commanded the NX-01 Enterprise
James T. Kirk commanded the Enterprise NCC-1701
Jean-Luc Picard commanded the Enterprise NCC-1701-D
The only ones who's names doesn't start with "J" are Christopher Pike and Rachel Garrett.
Wrap that around your noggin!😉
I for one personally prefer the Enterprise-D first and foremost. It was armed with virtually every Starfleet function, from exploration to science to diplomacy to defense, as the Federation's flagship basically should. Plus, the design was the sleekest, the crew aboard had the greatest chemistry, they tackled the greatest motifs and themes worth exploring during their mission, and of course, it was commanded by none other than Captain Jean-Luc Picard, the finest and most definitive example of a Starfleet officer.
Otherwise, I just love this lovely rendition of the ship that we saw in "Remembrance", the pilot of Star Trek: Picard two years ago. As for yourselves, just feel free to let me know in the comments section below.

In the TNG episode "Yesterday's Enterprise," the Enterprise 1701-C goes back through the rift. The Romulan ship hails. Romulan Captain says "Lower your shields and prepare to be boarded!" Acting Captain Richard Garrett (Christopher McDonald aka. Shooter McGavin) responds, "Not on your life! I eat pieces of s*** like you for breakfast!" The Romulan Captain retorts, "You eat pieces of s*** for breakfast? DESTROY THEM!"
P.S. I realize the film Happy Gilmore would not be made for several years. These are just the demented thought I have when watching shows I love.

So, I’ve had this thought for awhile, but I was reminded about it by the recent Benteen/Garrett poll. I think of any era or crew that could be revisited or further explored, I would like to see the adventures of Captain Rachel Garrett and the Enterprise-C.
Honestly, the successful recasting of Captain Pike and crew in DIS and the upcoming SNW are what got me thinking about this. Garrett, like Pike, was a single adventure Captain. We only got the slightest glimpse of her Enterprise, and Richard Castillo was the only crew member aside from her that we really met. I would love to see both roles recast with young actors, provided they be the caliber of Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn and Ethan Peck.
As far as the ship and sets go, once again I am hopeful based off what we saw of the Enterprise in DIS. While some liberties were obviously taken with the set and costumes, they were much truer than to the TOS era than the actual Discovery set (for one thing, it helps to start with a bridge set that’s under 2000 sq ft). This would also be a must; I would’ve expect them to construct an exact replica of the 1701-C bridge, but it could still look really cool if updated along the lines of the SNW Enterprise bridge. Same thing goes for the uniforms. I’d be fine if the materials are updated and tweaked; you want to incorporate Starfleet deltas into the fabric? Fine by me, as long as they’re wearing red jackets with a clasp over the right shoulder and consistent tank insignia from that era. The DIS Enterprise proved there is room to tastefully update the ship, sets and uniforms while still looking cool and futuristic (I’m looking at you JJ).
Regarding the story...anything that takes place prior to the Narendra III incident and doesn’t conflict with established canon is great by me (tall order, I know). I also would specifically NOT want this to be another ongoing series. We have enough of those currently. But I’d love to see a mini-series, minimum of 4 eps, max of 8, something just really well written with the right balance of drama and action with a dash of humor. When the story telling is good enough, less can definitely be more.
Is that too much to ask?
Now, I have no suggestions for who could play Garrett or Castillo (or any of the non-canon supporting characters), but I’m open to suggestions.
