***Spoiler below***
In a previous episode, Una had a conversation with Pike on his fate and destiny and told him that there may be a way to change it. I feel that scene was a set up for what could be happening for the future of this show...
In this episode we are already seeing the effects of that conversation as there is a scene where Una is on the bridge with the crew as she sits in the captains chair... You may say that is not uncommon.
Sure it is not uncommon, what is uncommon is the way it was executed. It emphasized heavily when it happened with a wide angle camera to focus on the fact that the entire crew on that scene were all females (kinda cringe like the Marvel END GAME all female scene). So was this scene a set up for a future shake up of the captains chair in which Pike will be spared and change his destiny, and in turn change the timeline> Or am I reading too much on that scene?
I'll add...
If this is the way this show is going to introduce their inorganic political ideology then we might as well call it now, because that is not Star Trek. Discovery lost me because of this forced approach of preaching and lecturing which is not good story telling.
As of right now, SNW is not preaching to me, and it has decent story telling, but I will quickly tune out as soon as it becomes a lecture fest filled with ideology.
They need to focus on what Star Trek does best, great writing, story telling, asking questions and letting the audience use their imagination to answer it among ourselves here.
