We know, canonically, that early Vulcans are an emotional race, and that B4 embracing the philosophy and vision of Surak, their passions almost destroyed them. And that at least one group, rejecting Surak’s teaching, splinters off and forms the Romulan Star Empire.
In “Who Watches the Watchers” (TNG 3x4 & a personal favorite), the Mintakans are described as a proto-Vulcan people. Sure, their society is in an early developmental state, and some are prone to see violence as a solution (I’m looking at you, Arturus…I mean Liko), but they are also logical and intelligent.
Nuria is certainly a very capable leader.
My question is: Knowing what we do of early Vulcan, is the portrayal of the Mintakans as ‘Proto-Vulcan’ accurate, or do they seem to be quite different from early Vulcan society? 🖖🏾
