It's good, but season 3 keeps it from being excellent.
Hi. I’ll try to get the editing done later today.
To me, Burke in “Nor the Battle to the Strong” seemed like he specialized in ground combat, but the characters in “The Siege of AR-558” seemed like ordinary Starfleet members who’d been stuck in ground combat for awhile.
I like TOS (among the older shows, I’d put it in the 2nd tier w/TNG & Enterprise), but I prefer DS9.
I don’t think they’d be able to assimilate Changelings or non-corporeal beings.
@Michael Benucci IIRC, we only the saw the 1 city ship, but I don’t think we saw enough of the Voth to truly know the extent of their civilization.
@Icecreamdif They placed a lot of importance on their place of origin & their right to rule it since they evolved 1st, so I think that indicates that they’d want to return to Earth & rule it if they accepted Distant Origin Theory.
I think the only way season 1 of Picard could’ve been saved is by dealing w/the Romulans & est. the Zhat Vash in season 1 & dealing w/the synths in season 2. They tried to stuff too many plot points into season 1.
I’m not a fan of Discovery’s Klingons & I strongly disagree w/the idea that they’re scarier than Berman era Klingons. Since there were major differences between TOS Klingons & Berman era Klingons & the differences were acknowledged in “Trials and Tribble-ations”, explaining the differences in the Klingons made sense to me. Idk if Discovery’s Klingons will be explained, but it’d make sense to provide an explanation due to how controversial they are.
Yeah, I’d strip Sisko of his rank & give him a long prison sentence for his use of a biogenic weapon in “For the Uniform”.
Yeah, there’s a major spoiler in the title of the latest post related to LD for those of you who haven’t seen LD. You might want to make this request in a reply to that post.
Are the pictures of these Klingon extras already on MA? If so, it’d be easy for me to do that if someone can tell me where those pictures are. If not, I’d need some help since I’ve never downloaded a picture to MA & b/c I’m not sure which Klingon extras aren’t in the “Unnamed Klingons (23rd century)” article.
A Captain Saavik show could be great (it’d depend on its execution), but I’m not sure if she’d need to be captain of the Enterprise-B.
@Nathanial Higgins I’ve read that Roddenberry wished he could’ve done a film w/a similar plot to TFF & it made him jealous of Shatner, so I wouldn’t call it anti-Roddenberry. Also, I think it’s generally quite good until Sybok’s on the Enterprise (though it’s mostly awful after that). However, your other examples show that some of the best works of Star Trek can stray from Roddenberry’s vision (though I’d note that DS9 didn’t always stray from Roddenberry’s vision & that it & TUC had endings that I think contained elements of Star Trek’s vision of a better future).
Season 3.
Yeah, Idk if she would need to be the captain of the Enterprise-B. Having her as the captain of another ship (presumably an Excelsior or Miranda class ship) would be fine to me.
I think they’d probably return to Earth. I wonder if they’d be hostile & how powerful they’d be in comparison to the Federation if they were hostile.
DS9 is my favorite b/c it has the best characters & the best plots. Nog has the best character arc in all of Star Trek.
Picard didn’t listen to him (though he was trying to make a difference when he accepted his promotion to admiral).
I’d definitely put the Doctor & 7 ahead of Tuvok & I might put B’Elanna ahead of him. Voyager’s characters weren’t its main problem. Voyager’s plots & its inconsistent continuity were its main problems.
@Sub comander tav “Affliction” & “Divergence” explain the appearance of the Klingons in TOS, but they don’t explain the appearance of the Klingons in Discovery.
