There is large STAR TREK panel at the San Diego Comicā¢Con tomorrow. More will likely be revealed!

Looks like Season 1 is leaving June 24 and Season 2 on December 31. Can't help but feel partially responsible. Seems like whenever I start to watch this show, it's removed from wherever it is. Coincidence, for sure. But a strange one. Guess I'd better hurry up and finish. Though I'm sure my completist nature with force me to buu whatever "Complete Series" bluray set is released eventually.

Kinda lame that it is so short and the marketing has been pretty bad.
So, SNW is, too. What do you think?
For me, it changes next to nothing. The level of technology shown in SNW isn't at all compatible with TOS or even TNG, so, I think it's a good explanation.
Hello everyone,
So this prequel movie appears to be in the works. Though I think it's still too early to tell if it will actually happen.
But what do people think of this?
They want to make a rebooted origin story for Starfleet based primarily on Earth. This article makes it sound like they don't want to stick to canon so there's really no telling what this movie will look like.
Personally I don't think this is a good idea. They toyed with the idea of making the first season of Star Trek: Enterprise based on Earth while the NX-01 was being built and then launching the ship in season two but they decided against that because they realized that's not what most Star Trek fans wanted to see. Even DS9 realized they needed more runabouts and the Defiant to get off the station.
This idea just doesn't sound like Star Trek to me. Though, they say in the article this movie really wouldn't be for Star Trek fans. They say they want to attract a younger audience and new fans so that sounds like this project wouldn't really be for established Star Trek fans.
The only way I see a movie like this working is if they make it like "The Right Stuff" and have it analogous to the early days of Nasa where they're building and testing flying new ships. But that still doesn't scream Star Trek to me. And they had an episode of Star Trek Enterprise like that already.
I'd love a movie set in the 25th century after the events of Star Trek Picard and would even be fine if it was an all new ship and crew. They could still do whatever they wanted there.
So personally, I don't have high hopes for this project, if it happens.
But what does everyone else think?
Ms. Taylor was a writer & producer for TNG, wrote a few DS9 yarns, and was a Co-Creator of STAR TREK: Voyager.
