- Ce roman était censé être le premier d'une nouvelle trilogie du Shatnerverse, chroniquant cette fois la jeunesse de James T. Kirk. La dernière page du roman précisait "Midshipman Jim Kirk will return in […] Academy: Trial Run". Cependant cette suite reste non publiée à ce jour.
