Ballantine Books est une société d'édition fondée en 1952, devenue filiale de Random House en 1973. Elle fait actuellement partie du groupe Penguin Random House.
La compagnie a publié plusieurs ouvrages Star Trek en concurrence avec Bantam Books et Gold Key Comics jusqu'en 1979 où la licence fut transmise à Pocket Books.
