La Cinq était une chaîne de télévision généraliste privée française créée en 1986 et qui a cessé d'émettre en 1992.
En 1982, TF1 n'avait diffusé que 13 des 79 épisodes de la série Star Trek: The Original Series. La série sera à nouveau diffusé en 1986 sur La Cinq. Les 66 autres épisodes sont ainsi diffusés pour la première fois :
