Venere (o Sol II) è il secondo pianeta del sistema Sol orbitante intorno al Sole ogni 224,7 giorni terrestri ad una distanza di 0,72 UA. Il pianeta è chiamato come Venere, la dea romana dell' amore.

Trattandosi di un pianeta dalle condizioni ambientali estreme, la temperatura della superficie venusiana raggiunge la temperatura di 735 gradi Kelvin ed una pressione atmosferica media di 95 bar.

Hugh Campbell ha scritto un racconto intitolato "Venusian Chronicles" per il numero di gennaio del 1953 della rivista Incredible Tales magazine. (DS9: "Lontano, oltre le stelle")

Venere è stato visto in una mappa riguardante il sistema solare dalla sonda Nomad. (TOS: "La sfida")

Nel 2364, quanto l'equipaggio dell' USS Enterprise-D è stato intossicato dall'azione di un virus, un uffiale officer in servizio all' hangar navette delivered an inappropriate limerick over the comm to other crewmembers. (There was a young woman from Venus whose body was shaped like a...) Hearing this, Lieutenant Commander Data began to repeat the limerick, but was cut off by Captain Picard before completing it. Nel XXIV secolo, sulla superficie di Venere sono dislocate un certo numero di stazioni per il terraforming. (DS9: "Tempi passati - Prima parte")

In an alternate timeline, Miles O'Brien, while still in the 24th century, noted that the terraforming stations on Venus were gone, following the creation of an alternate timeline created when Benjamin Sisko, Jadzia Dax and Julian Bashir disrupted history after transporting to the 21st century.
