40 Eridani C was a red dwarf in the Vulcan system. Located in the Beta Quadrant, this star was approximately 16 light years from Sol.
It was one of three stars in this trinary system and was one of two stars in a binary star system. Its companion was the white dwarf 40 Eridani B. These two stars orbited the K-type dwarf Keid (otherwise known as 40 Eridani A).
In 40 Eridani C's system, there was the gas giant Kerkhov and its moon.
In 2259, the sun's name, its position in the system, and its orbital path were seen on a display graphic on the shuttle Cervantes. (SNW: "Charades")
