An abdicated prince
Abdication was a formal act where a member of a monarchy relinquished their authority.
According to a ruse that attempted to prevent Quark from acquiring a thousand bricks from the recently deceased Morn, in 2374, Hain, an ex-associate of Morn's who claimed to be from Lurian Security, explained that Morn was actually the crown prince of Luria, and that he renounced the throne when he came of age. The bricks of latinum were a supposed gesture from "his family", who bequeathed them when he abdicated, and because he had since passed, the latinum was to return to his family, under Hain's care.
