The Algeron system was a planetary system in the Beta Quadrant.

Stellar system[]

This was a single star system with an A-type primary.

Planetary system[]

In this system, there were at least four planets, including Algeron IV.

Stellar cartography[]

In 2259, the location of this system was seen on a stellar cartography chart seen on the USS Enterprise's ready room viewscreen. Though it was near the Federation-Romulan border, it was marked with a white symbol, indicating that the system was not aligned with either the United Federation of Planets nor the Romulan Star Empire. (SNW: "A Quality of Mercy")

In 2261, the location of the Algeron system was labeled on a star chart on the bridge of the USS Farragut. (SNW: "The Sehlat Who Ate Its Tail")

On stardate 1292.4, the location of Algeron was labeled in a star chart used during a Section 31 Alpha Team briefing. (Star Trek: Section 31)

This star system was only mentioned in writing.
Further information on this system can be had from the Star Trek: Star Charts (pp. 61 & 66) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Stellar Cartography", p. 38; "Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"). These reference works identified this system as the location where the Battle of Algeron (β), the first battle of the Earth-Romulan War, was fought and classified the primary of this system as a A-class star.
