She made her first television appearance in the fall of the same year, when she began playing the recurring role of another Alice in five episodes of The Patty Duke Show, on which William Schallert was a regular cast member. Her role lasted through the spring of 1965.
In November 1966, Rawlings appeared in an episode of NBC's Western series, The Virginian, Schallert and Chuck Courtney also appeared in the same episode. The same month, she appeared on Bob Hope Presents the Chrysler Theater. Around this time, Rawlings had suffered painful injuries in a fall from a horse in The Hero.
