Amazon University in 2151
Amazon University was an educational institution in Brazil on Earth. It included an outdoors classroom.
In 2151, Starfleet Ensign Hoshi Sato taught languages at Amazon University while on leave from Starfleet. Two weeks before her students were to sit their exams, she reluctantly left the facility in order to serve aboard the NX-class starship Enterprise. (ENT: "Broken Bow")
The name "Amazon University" comes from the revised final draft script of "Broken Bow". In that script, the facility was described as "A set of futuristic structures set in the Brazilian jungle." Although the script also referred to the outdoors classroom as having a blackboard. [1] In the final version of the episode, though, two whiteboards appear instead.
