Amick Byram has appeared twice on Star Trek: The Next Generation. His first appearance was as Lt. Paul Hickman in the episode "Identity Crisis"; he later appeared in the seventh season episode "Dark Page" as Lt. Cmdr. Ian Andrew Troi, father of Deanna.

Byram's wife, Cassandra Byram, is also a Star Trek guest star. She appeared in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's pilot episode "Emissary".
