The constellation star chart

Resembling Queen Andromeda from Greek mythology, Andromeda was an constellation visible from Earth's northern hemisphere. It was best known for containing the Andromeda Galaxy. Astronomical objects in this constellation were located in the Alpha Quadrant.

The Andromeda Constellation was partially visible on a viewscreen in the briefing room on the USS Enterprise in 2266. It was a star chart of the winter sky as seen from Earth. The constellation Andromeda was visible in the upper right corner of the chart and identified by name. (TOS: "The Corbomite Maneuver") The galaxy Andromeda - part of the constellation - was the destination of the Enterprise when kidnapped by the Kelvans in 2268. (TOS: "By Any Other Name")
