The Antares maelstrom was a powerful and destructive astronomical phenomenon associated with the star Antares in the Beta Quadrant.
In 2285, during his mission of vengeance against James T. Kirk, Khan Noonien Singh swore that he would chase Kirk "'round the moons of Nibia and 'round the Antares maelstrom and 'round perdition's flames" before giving up. (Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan)

Background information[]
This astronomical phenomenon was only mentioned in dialogue.
The quote is paraphrased from Moby Dick, in which Ahab merely vows to follow the titular whale round the Norway Maelstrom instead.
Named after the star, the Antares nebula was a real-world phenomena whereby it was fed by gases expelled by Antares and illuminated by its companion Alpha Scorpii B. It would be possible in the Star Trek universe that this nebula might be the home of the Antares Maelstrom.
Apocrypha[]
This location was the setting of the 2019 Pocket TOS novel The Antares Maelstrom.
