Anthony Jochim (14 January 1892 – 10 April 1978; age 86) is the actor who played SS Columbia survivor #3 in the first pilot for Star Trek: The Original Series, "The Cage". Footage of his scenes was later incorporated into TOS: "The Menagerie, Part I". Along with Judith Anderson, Walter Bacon, Bill Borzage, Jane Crowley, Morgan Farley, Richard Hale, Felix Locher, Celia Lovsky, Leonard Mudie, Charles Seel, Abraham Sofaer, Eleanore Vogel, and Ian Wolfe, he is one of only fourteen Star Trek guest stars born in the 19th century to appear in any episode or film, addended with the three credited Star Trek production staffers Franz Bachelin, Ernest Haller, and Byron Haskin.
He had a role in the 1953 version of The Jazz Singer, in which William Schallert also appeared. He later made an uncredited appearance in The Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, featuring TOS actor DeForest Kelley, guest actor Whit Bissell, and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine guest star Kenneth Tobey. He appeared in a guest role in The Outer Limits episode "Don't Open Till Doomsday", alongside John Hoyt and David Frankham, directed by Gerd Oswald and written by Joseph Stefano.
