An anti-grav sled, also known as an anti-grav unit, and sometimes referred to simply as an anti-grav, was a device used to carry objects which were too heavy to lift manually. The technology used was similar to a hovercraft or an anti-grav lift. It contained graviton inverter circuits, transfer coils, and a flow capacitor. The sled produced antigraviton fields.

Reginald Barclay accidentally referred to a flow capacitor as a "flux capacitor" while recounting an embarrassing incident to Deanna Troi in 2366. (TNG: "Hollow Pursuits")

Anti-grav sleds were used on Deep Space 9's Promenade. (DS9: "The Nagus", "Tribunal", "Apocalypse Rising")

Kasidy Yates and her crew sometimes used anti-grav sleds to transport cargo into her cargo ship. Although Benjamin Sisko suggested using the transporter instead, her transporter was a Mk. V, which was ill-equipped to transport unstable biomatter. (DS9: "Family Business")

Several crew members from the USS Cerritos used anti-grav sleds to unload supplies during a second contact mission to Galardon in 2380. (LD: "Second Contact")

During a second contact mission to Apergos in 2381, Ensign Beckett Mariner used an anti-grav sled to unload a dock containing two power washers. (LD: "Strange Energies")

Later that year, a Ferengi worker at the newly-christened Kynk's Mugatoland used an anti-grav sled that was presumably of Ferengi design. (LD: "Mugato, Gumato")

In 2382, Ensign Olly overloaded a large anti-grav sled with one hundred items of circular furniture, against Commander Jack Ransom's explicit orders, simply to prove that she could. She achieved this feat by modifying the sled to invert the weight threshold, which she boasted would allow the sled to carry a neutron star. However, her work was undone when her uncontrolled electrical powers short-circuited the sled, causing it to zoom off without its unstable load, which promptly fell on top of herself and Ransom. On a separate occasion, she lost control of an anti-grav sled and sent it careening down a corridor on the Cerritos. (LD: "Of Gods and Angles")
