Ariel Winter (born 28 January 1998; age 27) is an actress who voiced D'Erika Tendi in the fourth and fifth seasons of Star Trek: Lower Decks.
Winter is best known for her role as Alex Dunphy on Modern Family from 2009 to 2020. Amy Pietz, Ed Begley, Jr., Christopher Darga, Dominic Burgess, Jack Axelrod, Norman Lloyd, Jonathan Banks, Christopher Shea, Jason Mantzoukas, Nolan North, Richard Riehle, Vaughn Armstrong, Kelsey Grammer, Vanessa Williams, Patton Oswalt, Tucker Smallwood, Victor Garber, Ann Magnuson, Marc Evan Jackson, Rebecca Wisocky, Gabrielle Ruiz, Paul Dooley, Ron Ostrow, Jim Piddock, Tara Strong, and Jessica McKenna appeared in recurring and guest roles on this show.
Early in her career, as a child actress Winter appeared in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005, with Corbin Bernsen and Martha Hackett), Grilled (2006, with Jack Kehler), Speed Racer (2008), Opposite Day (2009), and The Chaperone (2011), and guested in episodes of Monk (starring Ted Levine, with Stanley Kamel), Bones, Nip/Tuck (with Derek Webster), Crossing Jordan (starring Miguel Ferrer and Jerry O'Connell, with Patrick Kerr), Criminal Minds, Jericho (starring Kenneth Mitchell and Alicia Coppola, with Leon Russom), and Ghost Whisperer (with Concetta Tomei). In 2009, she had a recurring role in the fifteenth season of ER (starring Eriq La Salle, Scott Grimes and Angela Bassett, with Leland Orser, Wallace Shawn, Willow Geer, Tom Virtue, and Albie Selznick).
In addition, Winter is known for her work as a voice-over artist. Among her most famous works in this field are Phineas and Ferb (2007-15, alongside, among others, Malcolm McDowell and Seth MacFarlane) and as the title character on Sofia the First (2013-18, alongside Alan Ruck, Tress MacNeille, Clancy Brown, Fred Tatasciore, David Sobolov, Jeff Glenn Bennett, Corey Burton, Carlos Alazraqui, Dawnn Lewis, Dee Bradley Baker, Grey Griffin and Greg Ellis.
