An armory team was a specialized group of Starfleet personnel responsible for the construction and installation of weapons systems aboard starships.
In 2151, Jonathan Archer, captain of Enterprise NX-01, ordered the ship back to Jupiter Station, for the purpose of the installation of state-of-the-art phase cannons, with which to better defend the ship against hostile aliens. Feeling a sense of personal pride in the matter, however, Commander Charles Tucker and Lieutenant Malcolm Reed chose to undertake the project themselves, constructing and installing two phase cannons in forty-eight hours, whereas it was estimated that the team at Jupiter Station would have taken two weeks to do the same.
