An auditory sensor was a feature of the computer on Constitution-class starships, allowing it to hear sounds.

In 2267, the augmented auditory sensor of the USS Enterprise heard every sound on board the ship, including the heartbeats of a skeleton crew, the court martial panel, and a presumed-dead Benjamin Finney. This ultimately proved James T. Kirk innocent of Finney's "murder". (TOS: "Court Martial")
