An away team report (also known as a mission report) was a standard report prepared by away team members from Federation starships on what occurred during an away mission. It included information on the actions taken by the away team members and also could describe the people encountered during the mission.

In 2364, Beverly Crusher learned from an away team report that her son had been imprisoned on Rubicun III. (TNG: "Justice")

After the Satarrans had deleted the USS Enterprise-D's computer memories in 2368, all mission reports were missing. (TNG: "Conundrum")

In 2373, The Doctor surmised from the USS Voyager away team reports on the Mikhal Travelers that they were "afflicted with terminal wanderlust" as a reference to how the Mikhal travelled through space. Kes also was supposed to put in such a report about the Mikhal. (VOY: "Darkling")

Later that year, Tuvok noted in his mission report a special commendation for "endurance and bravery" for Neelix after the incident on a Nezu colony. (VOY: "Rise")

The same year, Worf didn't put the details about his interactions with Martok in Internment Camp 371 in his mission report. Therefore Captain Sisko was surprised, when Worf told him that Martok had saved his life in the camp. (DS9: "Soldiers of the Empire")

In 2374, Kasidy Yates served as convoy liaison officer for PQ-1, a job which included writing a mission report after the convoy had reached its destination. Yates commented that this mission report had been her first and, hopefully, last mission report for Starfleet Command. (DS9: "The Sound of Her Voice")

In 2376, away team reports were one of the items Seven of Nine mentioned as being collected by the Voyager. (VOY: "The Voyager Conspiracy")
