Baber Nebula was a nebula in the Beta Quadrant.
In 2293, Baber Nebula's position was labeled in the star chart for the "Operation: Retrieve" command briefing. The chart was from the Starfleet Command Intelligence Database. This star chart was seen in the office of the Federation President on Earth. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, set artwork)
This nebula's quadrant of origin is inferred based on the position of neighboring locations – Starbase 24 and Rura Penthe – as seen in the star charts appearing in the Star Trek: Discovery episode "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad" and in the Star Trek: Picard episode "Maps and Legends".
Many of these locations shared their names with the last names of crew who worked on the sixth film. This location was probably named after chief rigging electrician Keith Baber.
