The Bajoran sun was the primary of the Bajoran system.

The Bajorans used the light from the sun to power the solar sails in their lightships. (DS9: "Explorers", "Accession")

Kira Taban once planted a tree near the family home that blotted out the sun from view from Kira Nerys' window "for kellipates". (DS9: "Progress")

In 2373, Benjamin Sisko experienced a pagh'tem'far in which Bajor's sun was blocked from view from B'hala by a swarm of locusts. (DS9: "Rapture")

Several weeks later, a Founder posing as Deep Space 9's Dr. Julian Bashir attempted to turn the star into a supernova using a bomb composed of trilithium, tekasite and protomatter. This would have destroyed the system's planets, Deep Space Nine, and the Federation-Klingon-Romulan fleet massing in the system. (DS9: "By Inferno's Light")

In 2375, Sisko was visiting the Vedek Oram's monastery in Kendra Province when the sun set over the mountains. Sisko later decided to build his house there, so he could watch the sun set over the mountains every night. (DS9: "Penumbra")

According to, the primary was named Bajor. [1]
