Bamboo stand
Bamboo was a plant related to grass, native to Earth.
In 2257, USS Discovery lieutenant junior grade Linus, a Saurian, was eating bamboo during a meal with other Discovery crewmembers. Fellow officer Jett Reno called him "Bamboo Boy" as a result. (DIS: "Through the Valley of Shadows")
Bamboo was grown on the grounds of Starfleet Academy. To cover up his tricorder scanning of the Species 8472 re-creation of San Francisco in 2375, Chakotay claimed to Boothby that his tricorder was registering the bamboo as maple trees. (VOY: "In the Flesh")
