A bear's head

A bear was a large quadrupedal mammal native to planet Earth. Creatures similar to the Earth bear were found on other planets.

In the Beowulf holodeck program, Freya told The Doctor that they consumed the atuta before battle to bring on the spirit of the bear and the strength to swing their swords. (VOY: "Heroes and Demons")

While discussing animal guides with Chakotay in 2371, Kathryn Janeway guessed that his guide was a bear. Chakotay told Janeway that his guide was not a bear, although he said it had great pokattah. (VOY: "The Cloud")
