The natives of Beta Antares IV were a species from the Beta Quadrant.
Captain James T. Kirk stated that on Beta Antares IV "they play a real game" called fizzbin, a game with absurdly complicated rules, which he invented while being trapped on Sigma Iotia II, as a ruse to escape his Iotian guard, Kalo. Additionally, according to Kirk, "the cards on Beta Antares IV are different, but not too different." According to Spock, who was familiar with the culture on Beta Antares and began to object, stating "there aren't games…"; he was cut off by Kirk to maintain the bluff. (TOS: "A Piece of the Action")
