Beta Geminorum, also known as Pollux, was the orange giant primary of the Beta Geminorum system. Classified as a red giant, this star was located in the Beta Quadrant and was approximately 34 light years from Sol.

In The Explored Galaxy, Beta Geminorum and Pollux were depicted as two distinct stars, even though they were established to be synonymous in "Who Mourns for Adonais?".
