Beta VI was the inhabited sixth planet of its star system. Located near a star desert, this planet was home to Colony Beta VI which was a Federation colony. Located somewhere in the Alpha or Beta Quadrant, this planet was over nine hundred light years from Earth.
In 2267, the USS Enterprise was scheduled to deliver supplies to the colony when the ship was intercepted by Trelane's planet Gothos. (TOS: "The Squire of Gothos")
In 3189, Commander Michael Burnham asked Tolor if he had obtained the laborers at his salvage yard on Hunhau from Beta VI. (DIS: "Scavengers")

Colony Beta VI was only seen in the remastered version of "The Squire of Gothos". The planet was a reuse of Sigma Iotia II as seen in the remastered "A Piece of the Action".
In the Star Trek: Star Charts ("United Federation of Planets I"), Beta VI was listed as a Federation member in 2378.

In the Star Trek Maps (p. 24), the colony was established in 2195, with a population consisting primarily of Humans and Andorians.
