Boogeymen is a Pocket TNG novel – #17 in the numbered series – written by Mel Gilden. Published by Pocket Books, it was first released in July 1991.

- Eric Baldwin is the Federation's premier exologist, a specialist in all manner of alien lifeforms – and one of Captain Picard's oldest, most trusted friends. But Baldwin's discoveries have made him enemies across the galaxy, and now he wants Picard to help protect him by erasing all traces of his existence.
- But Picard soon finds himself with little time to worry about Baldwin's problems. For the USS Enterprise-D has suddenly become a strange, dangerous place – a ship where assassins lurk around every corner, and even old trusted friends are not what they seem. Threats all masterminded by the strangest race of aliens Picard and his crew have yet encountered…

Background information[]
- Gilden's original story for Boogeymen had featured Moriarty; however, editor Dave Stern turned that idea down, on the basis that the series may wish to use the character again[!]. (Voyages of Imagination, p. 172)
- The poem that Captain Picard recites to Wesley Crusher on page 144 is by poet James Thomson.
