Boradis III was the inhabited third planet of the Boradis system. The first Federation outpost in the system, established in 2331, was located on this planet. The planet had minimal defenses and was a soft target for a marauding warship.
By 2365, three other colonies were present in the Boradis system, and nine other outposts were present in the sector.
In 2365 the USS Enterprise-D was on a mission just outside the system to intercept a Class-8 probe which carried special emissary K'Ehleyr. Data and Commander Riker gave a brief description of the system's history to Captain Picard. (TNG: "The Emissary")
