A foot stepping on the brake
A brake was a mechanical device that allowed a vehicle to be slowed down or completely stopped by the driver. Brakes were typically operated by foot controlled levers known as pedals.

In 2024, when Doctor Agnes Jurati was trying to get a transporter lock onto Seven of Nine and Raffaela Musiker while they were driving a stolen police vehicle, she told Seven to hit the brake, so she could get a lock.
