Place:Houston, Texas

Actor Brent Jay Spiner portrays Lt. Commander Data, Lore, Noonien Soong, and B-4 in Star Trek: The Next Generation. He will also portray Arik Soong in an upcoming three-episode arc on Star Trek: Enterprise. His excellent portral of Data, the android in search of humanity, has made him an invaluable member of the TNG cast. These skills were highlighted in the episode 'Brothers', where Mr. Spiner played all three main characters of the story, turning this episode into a 'one-man show'.

He was born on February 2nd, 1949 in Houston, TX. After his education, he played a number of roles in off-Broadway productions including 'The Seagull' by Anton Chekhov. He soon got roles in several Broadway productions, such as 'Sunday in the Park with George'. Since, he has appeared as a guest star in television series like 'Cheers' and 'Night Court'.

Mr. Spiner has acted in several non-Trek movies such as 'Independence Day (1996)' and 'Phenomenon (1996)'.

In a rather unexpected turn of events, in 1991, he released album of 1930's and 1940's pop standards called "Ol' Yellow Eyes Is Back". Notably, the back-up vocals in the song "It's A Sin (To Tell A Lie)" were performed by 'The Sunspots', aka his fellow TNG cast-members LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, and Patrick Stewart. Undoubtedly, this album influenced Paramount enough to let him sing 'Blue Skies' in the movie Star Trek: Nemesis.
