Briam was a Kriosian ambassador born in 2168.

In 2368, he was assigned to oversee the end to the battle between the Krios and Valt Minor systems, which was set to end aboard the neutral ground of the USS Enterprise-D in a Ceremony of Reconciliation. Ambassador Briam arrived first with a gift for the Valtese leader Alrik, encased in a cocoon-like structure. He explained to Captain Picard that it was a fragile and irreplaceable item which he asked to have declared off-limits.

While on course to meet Alrik, the Enterprise-D rescued two Ferengi from their shuttle. One of the Ferengi was caught trying to probe the gift, and after knocking it over, it revealed a beautiful woman. Briam explained that she was Kamala, a Kriosian empathic metamorph, and was to be married to the ruler of Valt Minor aboard the Enterprise-D. It was Briam's duty to instruct her in the ways of the ceremony and Valt traditions. Briam was chosen to escort Kamala on this peace mission because being a man over two hundred years old, Kamala's pheromones didn't affect him as much as younger men.

Later, Briam was injured by one of the Ferengi named Par Lenor, who tried to bribe him to sell him Kamala. He asked Picard to assume his duties in teaching Kamala the ways of the Valtese. Captain Picard was able to fill in for the disabled Kriosian. (TNG: "The Perfect Mate")

Briam was played by Tim O'Connor and his stunt double Erik Cord.

His costume was later sold off on the It's A Wrap! sale and auction on eBay. [1](X)
