Bronze is an alloy that combines copper with another kind of metal (phosphorus, manganese, aluminum,silicon). The usual melting point of bronze is lower than other metals' melting points. Bronze is also known to be one of the more flexible metals.
On Earth, it was first used during the bronze age of Human civilisation. It has since been used in decorations, jewelery and sculptures.
In 2373, a bronze and triptin statue was found onboard of a derelict freighter in the Bajoran system. Quark aquired the statue, and sold it to a Bolian for 1 bar and 3 strips of latinum. (DS9: "In the Cards")
