Brooklyn was a borough of New York City, on Earth's North American continent. It was connected to the borough of Manhattan via the Brooklyn Bridge. One of the main arteries in Brooklyn was Flatbush Avenue. It also contained Bensonhurst.

In an alternate version of 1944, Alicia Travers lived in Brooklyn. "Stop 'n Go Cleaners" was also based in Brooklyn, although by 1944 their building stood abandoned. (ENT: "Storm Front")

From the Star Trek Encyclopedia, 4th ed., vol. 1, p. 107, "Most of the streets and alleyways of Brooklyn in "Storm Front" were filmed on the standing New York Street set on the Paramount Pictures backlot or in the alleys behind Paramount Stage 9, where many of the Star Trek sets were built."

Brooklyn might have been the namesake of New Brooklyn IX.
