Buddy Garion (23 December 1924 – 27 June 2013; age 88) was the actor who played Karf in the Star Trek: The Original Series second season episode "A Piece of the Action". He filmed his scenes on Tuesday 7 November 1967 and Wednesday 8 November 1967 at Desilu Stage 11 and on location at Paramount Pictures' Boston Street backlot.
Garion's other television credits include appearances on Dr. Kildare, Burke's Law, Matlock (with Michael Durrell), and The A-Team (starring Dwight Schultz, with Lance LeGault, William Lucking and Charles Napier). He was also seen in The Death Squad (1974, with Julie Cobb, George Murdock, Bert Remsen, and Kenneth Tobey).
In addition, he had roles in Ice Station Zebra (1968, starring Patrick McGoohan, with Joseph Bernard, Lloyd Haynes, Jonathan Lippe, William O'Connell), Marlowe (1969, with Kenneth Tobey and Jason Wingreen), and The Big Picture (1989, with Stephen Collins, Teri Hatcher, Stan Ivar, and Michael McKean).
His last known screen appearances were episodes of That's Life (2000, with Paul Sorvino and Frank Kopyc), Little Britain USA (2008), and Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! (2009, with Donald R. Jankiewicz and Patrick Jankiewicz).
Garion passed away in a VA hospital after battling lung cancer. [1](X)
