Cape Canaveral, also known as Cape Kennedy for several years for John F. Kennedy, was a cape in the region of Florida on Earth.
In the 20th century, it was the location of a NASA facility utilized for the purpose of launching spacecraft. The first manned moon shot, Apollo 11, was launched from Cape Kennedy in 1969. (TOS: "Tomorrow is Yesterday")
In 2328, this was the point of embarkation for Brian Muirhead. He was traveling to Mars on the SS Kogin. (TNG-R: "Inheritance", okudagram)
