A cargo hauler or freight hauler was someone who piloted cargo from one location to another.

While talking about the ECS Fortunate, Travis Mayweather noted that typically vessels of that kind were equipped with nothing more than a low-yield plasma cannon but most freight haulers would upgrade at the first chance they had. (ENT: "Fortunate Son")

In 2152, Trip Tucker asked Travis Mayweather whether he thought a dead Human found in a unknown craft might have been a cargo hauler. Mayweather doubted it, as the pod was found more than thirty light years from the nearest trade route. (ENT: "Future Tense")
