Carl Fortina is an orchestra contractor who worked on several Star Trek films and Star Trek: The Next Generation. For the third season episode "Deja Q", he assembled 35 musicians to record the score on Friday 19 January 1990 at the 20th Century Fox Scoring Stage.

Fortina started his career as an actor/musician in front of the camera. He performed in episodes of The Spike Jones Show (1957) and The Jack Benny Program (1957). The following years, Fortina worked as musician on films including the western How the West Was Won (1962) and the drama Pressure Point (1962).

His work as orchestra contractor and orchestra manager includes the science fiction drama Iceman (1984, with music scoring mixer Dan Wallin), the musical comedy Little Shop of Horrors (1986), the thriller The Hunt for Red October (1990), the drama Frankie and Johnny (1991), the comedy Leap of Faith (1992), the comedy sequel Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult (1994), the comedy Clueless (1995), the animated film Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island (1998), and the mystery comedy Where's Marlowe? (1998).
