Template:Sidebar character Lieutenant Commander Cavit was the original first officer assigned to the USS Voyager, under Captain Kathryn Janeway, at the time of its launch in 2371.

Along with Voyager's original chief medical officer, Cavit was weary of Tom Paris given his criminal past.

Cavit was manning the tactical station when Voyager was thrown into the Delta Quadrant by a displacement wave created by the Caretaker. He tried to get to his chair before the wave collided with the ship, but did not make it and was killed in the resulting impact. (VOY: "Caretaker")

Cavit was played by Scott Jaeck; his role was uncredited.
