Cesar was a 23rd century Human.

Being in the same family as Dr. Hugh Culber, Cesar was the physician's "tío" (Spanish for "uncle"). His nephew remembered him as an "infamous card shark".

After Cesar had died, his family performed the el muerto parado (Spanish for "the dead standing") tradition. After the body had been embalmed, the family positioned it into a pose which best reflected Cesar's life. They posed him at a poker table holding playing cards.

Feeling devastated by the loss of his uncle, Hugh participated in the funeral. With assistance from his cousins, Dr. Culber placed the playing cards in his uncle's hand and corrected any mistakes made with the medical techniques he had learned.

In 3190, Dr. Culber drew upon this experience as an example of how he coped with grief in his therapy session with Cleveland Booker. (DIS: "All Is Possible")
