Chia was a Human Federation Starfleet cadet.
In 2259, she, along with fellow cadet Nyota Uhura, were on training rotation assigned to the USS Enterprise. Prior to her and Uhura's return to Earth, Chia was part of the landing party assigned to salvage the USS Peregrine after it crash landed on Valeo Beta V, but was killed by a Gorn hatchling.
